Royal Palm Beach Rotary Club Names 2014-2015 Rotarian of Year

On June 25, 2015 Dr. Sarda Bhandary, Physician, was named the Rotarian of the Year for his outstanding work as a Rotarian and Humanitarian. He just returned from a trip to Nepal where he assisted in the aid to those effected by the recent tragedy.

Dr. Sharada Bhandary was born in Nepal. He obtained his medical degree from the University of London, England. He came to the United States after completing his Post Graduate training in England in 1977.

He retired after having practiced Emergency Medicine for 29 years. He was the Medical Director of the Emergency Department of his hospital in Virginia. He also served as the Operational Medical Director for the Emergency Services for the city of Franklin and the County.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He moved to Royal Palm Beach from Virginia in 2007. He spends his time between Florida and Nepal where he volunteers his service in Hospitals and Clinics. In Nepal he has visited several Rotary projects accompanying his brother who is also a Rotarian there. He lives with his wife, Lalita in Royal Palm Beach. They have 2 sons – the older son is a Radiologist in Fresno, CA and his younger son, a Banker, lives in Wellington.
