Fire Chief Steve Jerauld spoke at our morning breakfast on February 11, 2010.
The Chief got his start as a Fireman over 30 years ago as a volunteer, which was an invaluable experience that he carry’s with him today.
Palm Beach County has grown so much over the years that there are now over 1,500 employees serving the County.
The Chief also mentioned that over 80% of the rescue calls that they receive are medically related, not fire. It has been important to cross-train the firefighters with paramedic skills. The Chief strives that all his units conduct themselves with compassionate professionalism.
